Geraldine Bedford, Commercial Co-ordinator, talked to students about why languages are important at gro group and showed them the products which are produced in China and sold around the world.
HSBC - John Cabot Technology College
Philip Spencer, Divisional Manager, International Trade Services, HSBC Bank plc gave a presentation to the Year 11 students at John Cabot to show how HSBC communicates with customers from other countries and uses an understanding of other cultures through the course of its business.
Reuters - Pilton Community College
Marcus Rees from Reuters opened the new Modern Foreign Languages Suite at Pilton Community College, and explained to students that languages are at the heart of Reuters' communication strategy.
Paradise Park - Hayle Community College
The students at Hayle Community College came up with some new ideas to help foreign visitors to Hayle's Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary.

South West Tourism - Oldfield School
South West Tourism organised a number of visits to tourist attractions and hotels in Bath for groups of 14 year old students, where they learned that using the language of your customers is vital for business.

Cooknell Optronics - Budmouth Technology College
Paul Tyler, Director of Cooknell Optronics, was dismayed to hear that languages were no longer complusory at GCSE. The sixth-formers at Budmouth are putting their language skills to work on a marketing project for the company.
